Disconnect the wire from the coil that is now connected to the ignition switch. Use a piece of insulated stranded wire of 14 gauge with an alligator clip on both ends about 4' long. Put the tractor in Neutral and lock brakes. Connect the jumper to the battery cable that is not grounded and the other end to the coil terminal that you took the wire off of. This "hot wires" the tractor, it will now be getting ignition voltage (assuming the battery is up and good). If it runs now, the ignition wiring, or switch needs repair.
