Im not always the sharpest tack in the wall but for my tractors I clean them out with several oil changes about 4-5 hours apart. Then I use 10-40 synthetic oil and add a quart of Lucas oil stabilizers just to be different. I am not sure why it works out ok but I dont seem to burn much oil. I know I'll get some flack but thats worked out fine for the last few years. Drove my M 30 mile Saturday up and down hills pulling an 18 foot trailer with an A on it. Good pressure and little heat buildup.
