After years working on cadets I moved into a Cub. Its a 1970 model. I rebuilt the carb and stopped the leaking. It idles fine and runs okay but is seems to sputter in 2 and 3 gear. Gapped the points at 18. I got spark in all 4 cylinders. I also dont need to choke it to get it started which I find to be odd. Additionally, the air fuel needle does seem to effect it either way. The float is set at the spec. I may have some water in the gas. I drained the tank but did not get it all because I can see it in the bowl. Im getting some heet in the morning. Any ideas. Do you think its just a bit of water?
Also, the brakes arent working the pedal goes to the floor and hardly stops. The pedal does not spring back into position even though the springs are attached and are good. Any fixes for the brake problem? Is it a bear to replace the brakes?

The 3/42 had a 3 cylinder diesel engine which produced 42 bhp at 2,000 rpm. Th
