Ayup! The Lobster Festival is in Rockland, about 35 miles from me, about three four weeks ago. I took my BN down to the Antique Truck and Tractor Show at the Owl's Head (next town past there from here) Transporation Museum just the week before. If you ever have any more thoughts about doing that lemme know. Best bet is to fly to Boston or Portland and rent a car from there. Maine's transportaion infrastructure leaves a lot to be desired. Some folks like that, some don't. ;8^)
Wonderin' if that fuel bowl really does need a flare fitting, or the straight compression fitting like the other end. If you do take it apart to look, the inside (sediment bowl end) of a flare fitting will look like a hollow bullet nosed nipple. Pretty pronounced dome to it. If that's not what you see, it may be a straight compression fitting would be what's called for, just like the original. If it does appear to be a flae on the inside, youmight try bowing your line a little bit to make sure you've got a straight run into the bowl end of the fitting, before tightening it down. I never tried Teflon on a fuel fitting. I hit the ends of my fuel lines with a sufficient but not too generous dab of white, gas-proof Permatex pipe dope. Works real well, but only on the original style male fittings. Not real effective (Teflon OR dope) on a flare fitting. In any event be careful running it, and for the first little while watch especially closely for any sign of that leak opeing back up.
