Keith: Why don't you just go back to the factory starter switch, as used on SA, 100, 130 and early 140. When the 140 was changed it went to key start with a solinoid. My Blue Ribbon Srevice manual is packed away or I could give you the exact serial number of change over. It happened in the first half of the 70s, so clearly your 1968 model would have used one of those proven switches used from 1947 until early 70s. I bought one from CaseIH just last week for my Farmall 130, $22.81.
Those switches last a long time. The one I replaced on the 130 was the original. I know my SA and 140 are only on the second switch each.
