Most of the OTR trucks here are newer Kenworth and look to be in as good of condition as the US trucks and most of the trailers are US built. The big Mexican freight companies can�t afford to be using junk trucks any more than their US counterparts. So, along with DOT inspections and regulations, I think that safty is not an issue (Heck, I drive on the same roads with them every day). That being said, there are plenty of local trucks here that should not be allowed on any road!
I won�t comment on the politics of whether or not Mexican trucks should be driving all over the US and US trucks driving all over Mexico, but you might as well get used to it.
