To make my point a little clearer I'll add that if I knew what version the thread contributers were using, I'd know how and where to respond. This only applies to old threads.
The other day I started a thread about Ottawa loaders. At the same time, a discussion about the Ottawa, KS tractor show came up on "Tractor Talk". I thought I would ask those contributers if they knew anything about the products that were mfgd near them. If they were using the Modern version, they would see it. If they were using the Classic, it is unlikely they would be aware of my post.
This is not a big deal. I was hoping someone had discovered a way to determine the board source of a poster.
