see if you have the mud shield on the underside of the bolster. it is a tin shield that keeps the mud from packing in the bottom of the bolster. if its not there the starting asem is probably packed with years of mud and debris. clean alll the junk out with a scraper, compressed air and then pressure wash it.after its clean, spray it up real good with pb blaster penetrating oil. you will probably need to spray some every day for a few days, keep working the crank, tap it with a rubber mallet, it should loosen up.
