FL take a look at the wire between the distributor and coil. If it is on the positive coil post, you are more than likely positive ground. You didn't mention the battery. If it is connected see which post is being grounded. Also you can pull the light switch cover loose. Look at the ampmeter posts. If the wire from the battery, via the starter switch, is on the left post, and the other wires are on the right post, you are still positive ground.
