I went to a tractor show today and looked at a OS-4. The U-shaped brackets under the axle housings are smaller in a couple of regards. The vertical bolt holes into the axle housing are smaller and the center to center distance is one inch shorter. The cross bolt (hinge) is smaller as well. The inside dimension where the welded pipe sections go is the same.
I suggest that you use your brackets and bush my lower struts down to 5/8th or 3/4". I didn't measure that bolt size.
Because the bracket and the bracket end of the strut is downsized, I am assuming that the I-4 struts for the pintle is also a smaller section. Probably 5/8ths or 3/4" x 2". If you are looking for complete authenticity, you will have to fabricate new struts. Not a difficult job and well within the capability of any welding shop. It is something I could do as well. The length of the struts can be calculated using the Pythagorean Theorem.
