getting overhauled Cub engine to start

Engine turns over 90 miles an hr, but wont pick up and start. Put in around 2 teaspoons of auto trans fluid in each piston to seat up the rings, It started running down through the carb. Flooded new plugs, and will get some more. Let it set for 2 days for the oil to seat up. With new rod caps the piston rises up enough to press in the point on the plugs. Is that right?? Ive heard of having to use 2 rings in the plugs to beat that problem. Engine worked before overhaul, just lost power/
