Better minds and experience than I can offer will chime in, but I had experience of skin blistering hot hydraulic pump that was most likely the result of plugged screen in one of the valves - 'blocks'. I didn't have an implement on, but when I gave a hydra-touch lever a tap, the system was thus operating and took the pressure off - no implement - and fluid circulated. With your implement put in motion by you, and then with it lifting by itself, do you hear a difference in the sound of the hydraulic system? CAREFULLY, put your hand BY the pump, do you feel excessive heat, so much that you don't want to touch it? Also, what model loader do you have? Me - Farmall 340 with yet to mount IH 2001.
