Yes you need the the straight ones. The ones you have are for category 2 implements which are 32 inches. There is a sway control arm for the hitch. There should be a couple of pull pins in it. You remove the pins for plowing or other ground engaging work. This makes the tractor steer easier with the plow in the ground and prevents damage to the hitch parts. If you are not plowing you will never really need to worry with that.
