Randall(AL), If they are gas, the 454 has a C157 engine, and the 464 has a C175 engine. And like all IH engines there is a flat boss on the engine block with the s/n and engine model. If it a diesel, no difference as they are both D179 3 cylinder engines. The only other major difference is the 454 has both 540 and 1000 PTO shafts, and the 464 has only the 540 shaft. Hope this helps.
