Put the plug wires back and it will run at least as good as it did before.

Instead of playing Chinese-fire-drill with the plug wires, unhook them ONE AT A TIME from the distributor cap while the tractor is running (you shouldn't get shocked) and listen to see if the engine runs better or worse. When you pull a wire and the engine runs the same, it's not firing on that cylinder. Check all four cylinders.

The cylinders are 1-2-3-4 starting in front.
