Farmall 230 Clutch Problems

I replaced the clutch in my F230 a year ago and didn't know to remove the three wire clips, The adjusting bolts on the clutch fingers were screwed all the way in on the reman clutch I installed. A month ago Tractor started growling when clutch was pushed in and wouldn't shift unless the engine was slowed way down and then depress clutch and shove in gear , sometimes grinding some times not. I split the tractor and removed the clutch and found the twisted up clips which I then removed.
The clutch and press. plate all looked OK so I reinstalled and put 230 back together. I can feel clutch pedal pushing the fingers in but I cannot shift into gear, it just grinds. If I start it ingear with clutch depressed away it goes! Help! Is my clutch wore out even though it did not look it? Is there any way I can adjust fingers or are they all ready maxed out? Any insight will be greatly appreciated!!
