Well, I didn't do my homework. I bought a set of replacement front rims for my MTA. It has 6.50-16 tires so the guy at Miller tire told me it takes a 4.5 inch rim, so I ran up and picked up a set. He said to weld on my old drive lugs to the new blank rim. I dismounted my tires yesterday and found out they were on 4 inch rims. Besides that the drive lugs are cast. Will the 4.5 inch rims fit on the narrow front pedestal? I don't think the cast lugs will weld onto the new steel rims very well. I thought both of my old rims were junk, but it turned out that 1 is ok. Where can I find a rim to match my good old one? If I switch to the new rims (if they fit) can my drive lugs be re-riveted to the new rims? Where can I get the rivets? Anybody know of anyone that could do this for me, I've never had much luck with rivets.
