I am restoring a '52 Cub and I used pressure washer first over everything. Then a 4" gringer with two different styles of stiff wire brush on the cast parts. This seemed to work well but took a fair amount of time. I also had the fenders, floor pan and wheels sand blasted. I sent that part out if you ever sandblasted anything you probably wouldn't want to do it again. Just remember when you do the gas tank sparks from sandblasting or grinders even with a wire brush can be dangerous. Good Luck! Have Fun!
