I will have to think here for a min, It is late now and am getting tired, but here goes. I think I had gotten the shaft slid in and had trouble like that also, so I took off the bolt for the trans input shaft and got the shaft on all the way ( I think it may have not gone all the way into the pilot bearing)then put the bolt back in and then slid the ring inbetween the flanges and then slid in the rubber washers with retaniers. I will have to tell you, the manuals are not much help for this, I plan on taking mine back apart tomorrow if the rain lets up and the puddle under the tractor isn't too deep, I may write down the process so I can help everyone out. Where in Indiana are you?
