First part of my post was about the spacer. It goes between the front and rear bearing on transmission input shaft. With the spacer when you put the front yoke on input shaft and tighten the bolt that holds it on that in turn sandwiches the inside bearing races and spacer together in place between yoke and gear on shaft. This puts bearings in center of outside bearing race. Without spacer when yoke is tightend the inside races are trying to pull toward each other and out of line. May even pull input shaft foward a little.
