Otis, You probably already know this is a 1942 A. (With the different seat as you mentioned, where did you get the serial number from? The engine block or is it just a different seat mounted to the r/l seat bracket and that's where the s/n plate was located?) My opinion is to base your offer on what you intend to do with the tractor if your price is accepted. Sounds like there is a lot to do to it just getting back into original condition. The main difference between the Farmall A and the Int. A is the front axle which on the Int. A is a heavy duty adjustable tread type axle. Parts availability is fairly good but guess it doesn't have hydraulics (other than maybe the pnuematic lift run off of manifold pressure). I'd ask for receipts for work done on the engine in '97 and then take a compression check on it. You are looking at significant front end repair/replacement work to make it original. New tires & tubes are gonna run about $500. Overall, I'd pass unless I knew of a good parts tractor nearby to rob needed parts from. Good luck//FB
