Did you take the little rotor gears out? If so look for timing marks on them and mesh the marks together. If they don't have marks, estimate where the rotor needs to point according to #1 nipple with #1 at top of compression stroke. I know lots of folks say that low magnetism causes problems, but I have never seen a H4 mag with poor magnatism. To take the coil out, take the coil cover off and take the two screws out on either end of the coil. Then take the condenser out to get the coil lead loose; then lift the coil out. If you want to check magnatism, now you can. Stick a screw driver in the housing near the magnets, and if it'll grab that screw driver with a little authority you should be fine. If you have spark out the coil wires, the rotor being out of time is the number 1 reason for no spark out the sparkplug wires.
