Curt, I haven't looked at your picture yet, but I did go look at the 47 B in my yard. Guess what? Couldn't find any casting codes on it either. The serial number will be later than 501. It is possible it could be a replacement engine, but not likely. The serial number on mine begins with 1, but is deeper than others and looks like an I. It is a 1 however. I suspect the one you have is too. I will look at picture as soon as this computer quits acting up.
