Hello, I agree with the other responses, go with the gas-I use argon. I have a simple unit that uses .023 wire. It will use .030 wire, but I've found it does better with the smaller wire. Mine is a 120V. machine. I'm wanting to get a heavier, 230V. unit, because I'd like to have the neatness of the wirewelder on heavier stuff I build.
