Farmer Bob's idea is a good one and I have done that many times in the past. I have also used a slender screwdriver that I magntized. Incase you have never magnatized anything, just get a good strong magnet like one from a car stereo speaker and rub the metal along side of magnet. rub one direction only and remove the metal after every stroke. check the strenght by picking up another nut the same size or bigger. To demagnatize the screw driver just slam it down on something hard a few times kind of like beating a drum with a drumstick.
