Thumbanger, the pully will not get hot enough in only 1 hour to hurt the seal. It will take it longer to heat the pully to that temp, and remember once you remove it from oven it cool fairly Quickly. I have done this lots of times and it works nicely. The first time I insalled a pully was on my 49 C I done it with a block of oak and a big hammer it worked so I thought. Two years later I was cultivating tobacco and the crank broke between no 1 and no 2 rod. Upon removal of crank you could see the crank had been brroke 1/3 of the way through for a while. The shock of the big hammer I assume cracked the crank.
