656Diesel help!!

I have the oppportunity to buy a 1969 farmall 656 diesel.Whats the true value of these tractors? What are they selling for? It has about 4300 hours on it, the motor has never been overhauled. It burns a little bit of oil only when really working. It has one hydrolic remote and a wide front end. The TA works good. The only thing that concerns me is that in fourth gear when pulling a heavy load will pop out of gear. He is asking $4000 for it. What is your opinion on this tractor. thanks for your thoughts
