Did you also use a good bit of some type of lube doing it. The only thing I ever use STP oil treatment for is when I put an engine togeather and it works just great as a prelube assembly lube. Stays on for ever and is slick as snot. I also coat my hands with it since the acid in your fingers can leave finger prints on bearings like the rod and mains. Seen a good number of engines with finger prints on them when they are opened up to do a rebuild
