Randy: If your hydraulics don't kick out, I think the plumbing will break first. Basically all that button does is shut off flow of oil. The question I always had about those cylinders is what happens when you have internal bypassing within the cylinder. I've bought off the shelf after market 4" bore cylinders that started internal bypassing after couple years of use. I've also had rams bend on those cheap cylinders. In 25 years of use, some of it quite severe service, I've never had one of those IH stroke control cylinders bypass internally, nor have I ever bent a ram or broke a yoke. I had close to a dozen implement cylinders in my farming days, and nothing measured up to those IH cylinders. One thing that IH did get right. Having said that, I believe Deere built a cylinder of their own that was of equal quality. There has also been a lot of junk on the market, believe me, I've compared notes with farmer users.
