differential oil for Cub

I have a 48 Cub and have had to do some work on the power take off. The pin on the lever that moves the clutch was worn off smooth. Just picked up the new part at the IH dealer (not cheap). The parts man says use Hyd oil in there. It looked like regular gear oil when I took it apart. Any of you Cub fellows know what I should use? Thanks ED
