The copper core wires work fine on older tractors and the insulation holds up very well. It's Hypalon rubber which is heat and fuel resistant. Whatever you do, don't use the resistor wires on a tractor with a magneto. It will kill your spark and eventually fry the mag itself. Just my $.02
