Perhaps it is like my rear work/tail light on my IH2444.
It has a clear sealed beam worklight and behind that is a seperate 1156 or somesuch bulb that reflects off the red lining in the light housing and will make the sealed beam look red. with the sealed beam off of course :) It is a dual purpose running and work light in one housing.

I just painted mine with red Rustoleum about 1 yr ago. still looks red, but I have not looked inside either.
