Now, there are a couple of things you can do; loose weight, not an option. Buy a step ladder, be hard keeping the ladder with you. Most logical is fabricate a step that comes out from the right final drive. Two of those 3/4" threaded holes should do the trick.

Seriously Avery, those steering shaft posts have always moved a bit no matter how light you are. I find the step very useful, and indeed very helpful as I age. I would be without one.
