When my Dad built his pole barn, he poured a cement floor with footings around the edge. Then anchored the poles on top of the floor with "L" brackets. I thought a good idea. Re spelling and the use of English. In a class in college I was tought that if you were able to convey the thought you were trying to convey, that was "effective communication". I prefer to follow that line of thinking, as I desire to find things in common with others, not differences. Also, anyone ever heard the saying "It's better to strike a hard blow with a crooked stick, than to spend the rest of your life trying to straighten the stick". Only my thoughts.
