Andy, Although it might latch in, I dont like the idea and would advise you to get one of the correct voltage. Its (a 6 volt relay) designed to latch at a lil over 6 volts, which a 12 volt genny would certainly deliver, but Im unsure of its coils current ratings and drop out and would just get a new 12 volt relay n be done with it.
