As far as I know, the blocks for the 263, 282, 291, and 301 gas engines are all the same. The only difference is the diameter of the holes. Yes, it's a lot to bore out, but the engine was designed such that it could be done, and was done tens of thousands of times by IH, as this engine block design was installed in 560, 656, 706, 806, 756, 856, 666 and 766 gas tractors as 263, 291, and 301 cubic inch versions. If you can re-use the 282 pistions (dunno about the wisdom in that), the block could still be re-bored for 291 sleeves in the future, and may be able to accept 263 sleeves without being re-bored at all, as I seem to recall that the 282 was simply a 263 with the sleeves removed.
