When a mechanical T/A starts doing this she is on her way to lunch . What is happening here is that it finds the flat spots on the rollers and slips thru . Now if the quill is not to bad then a new set of rollers and springs will give ya somemore life but if the quill is scored then it is time for a rebuild to make it new again .
