Mark, that is not an issue that requires splitting. (if it is indeed Hydro oil) The pump comes out of the bottom by removing all the pipe fittings and control lever. Turning the drive coupling to it from the trans countershaft so it is vertical, then lowering the pump on a floor jack. It is cool to operate the tractor without the pump, just cover the hole with a 16ga sheet metal plate. The pump seals are available, and not hard to repair. Keep us in formed. JimN
