Spring is too short if it wont idle down. If memory serves me right, I think it has 14 or 16 wraps on the spring. Either way, theres no way to adjust it to run lower if the spring is too short. The right spring is actually just a tad longer than the stock spring,,, Not much, maybe a wrap or 2. Find the longer spring, and check back before you go any further,,,, if your ear is good enough to find the peak rpm, then try that,,, but best way is a tach, or dyno, or one of those pto speed checkers,,, They use those to deterimne rpms in electric motors.
