Euclid indeed built and sold several series of crawlers (TC-12, 82-80, etc) with side by side 6-71 Detroit engines on a single set of tracks. A neighbor had a TC-12 set up as bulldozer for many years - worked hard it made enough noise to wake the dead! Caterpillar also marketed two twin-engined versions of it's venerable D-8. The D-8 SXS (twin engines side by side on a single set of tracks). Also a pair of single engine conventional D-8's connected "elephant style" (nose to tail) and controlled from the lead unit. Cool stuff!
