Denny I used a Super A to mow about six acres once a week last year. Before this one I had a JD400 lawn tractor, hydrostat and power steering. The Super A took a little getting used to. After getting the hang of it though I think they both mow about the same amount of grass in the same time. You do have to pay closer attention with the A in tight places. I would be concerned about horsepower with the cub if your deck was going to be wider than 42" and you had some hilly terrain. Other than that I think the A was a lot more fun than the JD. Don't mention this benefit to the significant other.
