If it is not corroded, or distorted I believe it is fine to use. Many have been abused during attempts to get it off without understanding the location of bolts, and its design. others were decayed from contact with mouse nests/junk in the housing when the unit was idle. If it was not leaking, and looks fine, I would use it. JimN

Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
