"One point" or "fast hitch" was popular in the late 1950's and 1960's (?), a propietry system of Farmall. On the implement you have just one rod that sticks forward that allows you to hook the implement to the tractor. We have it on our 140 and you can hook up a disk, plow, or mower in minutes.

The three point hitch is a modern system that most tractors use now days. It hooks up at the three places, hence the name. I think Ferguson came up the the three point system and he and Mr. Ford had an agreement to use it on the Ford tractors. Later Mr. Ferguson had to sue to get his money.

Thats the short of it. I guess fast hitch is a thing of the past but it still works good.
