The first thing I would do step on the clutch and move the lever. I think it is safe to say it is not an auto-destruct device. I once had a pickup truck stolen but was able to recover it when the police found it abandoned by the side of the road. I had installed a dump hoist under the box and the thieves couldn't figure how to put fuel in the tank. All they had to do was push in the clutch, move an obvious lever, and raise the body about a foot.
