Though not stock, a SS sheet metal ring made to fit around the exhaust pipe and be about 3/16" away from it with open top and bottom would buffer the hood from the heat. Spacing it so the top is about one inch above the hood, and the under side at least 1" below the hood at the lowest point. I would put small nuts on the inside three places at the top, and three at the bottom then use set screws to hold it in place against the exhaust pipe. Use silver anti-sieze compound to allow removal. JimN
