Mike. I had a B F Avery w/ one front wheel that smoked like a tar kettle and leaked like a strainer. Cut the wires to the plugs and put a shirt button inline, Don't know how it works but had no more plug problems. Checked the oil every time it was cranked. run it for ten years that way. My boy didn't check the oil one day and the rest is history. True story. If I were you I'd fix it right. David
