The sleeves didn't fit tight, movement allowed them to break off at top, piston pulled the sleeve down into crankcase. Problem occured big time when piston came back up. It didn't go straight up.

I had a 560, got close to 10,000 hours on the original sleeves and pistons. The aftermarket kit I bought, put two pistons in middle of barn yard at less than 1,000 hours. It was working on a silage blower. I know of a few other 282s and 188s that did this. 188 is just 2/3 of a 282. Now they will give you warning in time to shut them down. In my case it was a teenager, and he ran for help, leaving the tractor running. The tractor was still running when he got back, hole in block, and two pistons out in the barn yard.

Do your home work is all I can say. When I rebuilt my 656 I took it right to IH, no more damn cheap rebuilds for me.
