Biggered, you did everything right! That colostum is a very important move. I made the mistake one day of pulling a calf and leaving it behind the cow as they were both exhausted. I covered the calf with a blanket until the cow stirred about an hour later..too late she didn't want the calf, and it took a few days to educate her. Next one I pulled I dragged the calf right up to her nose and everything was fine when she got up. Cows is as complex as wimins..Mike in Exeter Ontario
