I agree with the other posts and would sdd that battery cable size and condition is important with 12v as well. Size "0" cables will supply cranking amps for both ign, and starting. If it is turning over fast, I would check the Key output to coil in the start position by disconnecting the solenoid temporarily so it is not trying to start, then looking for voltage at the coil. JimN
