I got the tractor back together after the restoration and went to see if it would turn the starter and got nothing. Battery is new but I charged it anyway, still nothing. The starter worked fine before the restoration so I can only think of a few things to check. #1 Sand in the saddle mounted starter switch. I blew it out several times and there is no paint on the connection. Tried tapping the side while starting but got nothing. I didnt sand blast the starter but sand gets everywhere. #2 Might not be making a good ground connection because of the paint. Guess thats my next move, take it off and get some of the paint off? I was wondering while I had it back off if I could take a jumper cable and while leaving the hot wire hooked up ground it with the jumper cable and then hit the starter button to see if it turns over. Least I would know if it were sand or a bad connection some place in the ground. I didnt disconnect any of the wires on the back side of the control box where all the wires connect while working on the final stage of the restoration. It worked fine before so I dont think theres anything wrong there. This is kind of frustrating to get it all done and then find out it dont run.
